Lunar
Lunar is Kasey’s beloved cat, who serves an almost symbolic purpose. If she trusts no one else, she trusts the cat and he seems to know what’s good for her even when she doesn’t. Plus, he serves as occasional comic relief with his haughty ways. “You are aware that your cat has a massive Napoleon complex, right?” – Gina
Danny Gray
Officer Gray is Rangley’s right hand man, an older figure who typically brings calm into the storm. He’s more perceptive than he looks and often tries to goad Kasey in the right direction, a task that isn’t always successful.
David Palmer
Officer Palmer is Rangley’s number two, a playful kind of guy who enjoys Kasey’s personal brand of humor. He thinks he’s not that great of a talker, but his one liners of wisdom often break through when nothing else can.
Greg Becker
One of the trio of cops who volunteered to watch over Kasey during the melee, he is sometimes shy and sometimes upfront, and tries to interject some laughs and wisdom here and there, to varying degrees of success.
Donna and Jake Reece
Donna is Kasey’s assistant, an older woman with a sunny personality that turns dark when she ends up a plaything in the killer’s game. Her husband Jake is torn in the middle but ends up being sturdier than he thought he could be.
The Laughton Family
Kevin, Cassandra and Paul Laughton were the sources of the tragedies that turned Kasey’s world upside down. They are her greatest loves and her greatest stumbling blocks, and remain an integral part of the life she has to live.
Eiler Rangley
Justin Rangley’s father helped deliver Kasey in the middle of a snowstorm, and has been a barrier figure in her life since, acting at times like a second father – when she’ll let him. He has secrets about the Laughton family that could tear Kasey apart – or set her free.
Audrey Brigguns
Cassandra Laughton’s best friend and Kasey’s adopted aunt, Audrey is also the person that does more to fuel Kasey’s abandonment issues than almost anybody else. She’s also in search of redemption and has no idea how to get it.
Bobby and Delores Carpenter
The octogenerian owners of the only theater in town, they are local legends, beloved by everyone.
Donald Travers
Travers is the source of most of Kasey’s anxiety and pain. Capable of causing a lot of hurt but ultimately not nearly as important as he’d like to be, he serves as one of the largest blocks Kasey has to try to overcome.
Tristan Beck
One of Kasey’s two best friends now living in New York, she doesn’t appear much but is part of an important moment.
